Vangent offers veteran experience, rigid security, program management, skilled personnel, and a unique facility geared to meet the specific needs of a space intensive operation involved in records management, including the review and declassification of documents. We are a leader in providing Declassification Services to the Department of Defense in accordance with Executive Order 12958, which requires automatic declassification of all classified records over 25 years old that have been determined to have permanent historical value.

Navy Declassification Project
As the Executive Agent for the Department of the Navy (DON), Vangent provides records management support through contracts with Naval Criminal Investigation Service, Office of Naval Investigations, and Naval Air Systems Command as part of the records declassification effort. To date Vangent has processed millions of pages of initial review records for DON. We located millions of pages of documents not included in the Navy's original count, but would be declassified if not reviewed prior to December 31, 2006. Also, we converted DON legacy declassification databases, not a part of this contract, to a MS SQL database. Each database is tagged with an identifier so it can be searched individually if needed.

Army Declassification Activity
We are an industry leader in providing declassification services to the Department of Defense (DoD) in accordance with declassification requirements of Executive Order 12958. Within 90 days of project start date, Vangent established a 34,000-square foot, Contractor-Owned Contractor-Operated (COCO) declassification facility dedicated to processing classified documents. We ramped up to over 130 personnel who were trained and cleared to perform processing of records. Certified by Defense Security Service (DSS) for the open storage of Top Secret and RD/FRD materials, Vangent has consistently exceeded the rate of declassification anticipated by the contract.
