PEARSON GOVERNMENT SYSTEMS TO PROVIDE PAPER DATA CAPTURE FOR 2011 UK CENSUS PROGRAM

Today, Pearson Government Solutions, as part of a team led by Lockheed Martin UK, was notified that it has been selected to carry out paper data capture during 2007 in pursuit of the 2011 UK Census program.

Pearson Government Solutions is one of nine companies in the Lockheed Martin UK consortium. The other companies include: Cable & Wireless, LogicaCMG, Broadcasting Support Services, Xansa, Polestar, Oracle and Royal Mail.

The other company shortlisted by the UK government authorities organizing the 2011 UK Census is T-Systems Limited, Deutsche Telekom's business customer brand. Lockheed Martin UK and T-Systems Limited teams will be required to conduct different test in 2007 - the Lockheed Team being the only bidder selected to carry out paper data capture.

Best and final proposals to operate the full 2011 census will be made towards the end 2007. If the Lockheed Martin UK team is selected next year, Pearson Government Solutions will be responsible for facilities, operations and staffing for the paper data capture center as well as conducting tests in 2007, which is the largest central element of the UK Census program.

Lockheed Martin UK delivered the 2001 UK Census. Pearson Government Solutions is currently part of the Lockheed Martin US team responsible for the 2010 US Census program.
