VANGENT, INC. AWARDED CONTRACT TO SUPPORT MILITARY HEALTH SYSTEM’S EXECUTIVE INFORMATION AND DECISION SUPPORT PROGRAM
IT Services Leader Will Provide Systems Operations, Security and Maintenance Services for Military Health System Computing
Arlington, VA,
October 16, 2007 - Vangent, Inc., a leading global provider of information management and business process outsourcing solutions, today announced it has been awarded the Military Health System Executive Information and Decision Support (EIDS) Infrastructure Operations, Security and Maintenance Support contract, valued at $18.2 million over 5 years. Vangent will serve as the prime contractor, with subcontractors CACI International, Inc. and Planned Systems International. The work will be performed at the four geographically dispersed EIDS sites and at Vangent team sites in Falls Church and Chantilly, VA.
The EIDS mission encompasses healthcare performed within military facilities and by civilian-managed care contractors. These services require EIDS to receive and process over 1 billion healthcare records per year from multiple sources and systems. EIDS is the centralized data store for the Military Health System, collecting, processing and managing nearly 100 terabytes of enterprise data through a powerful suite of decision support tools.
Under the EIDS Infrastructure Support contract, Vangent will provide systems operations, security and maintenance services for the MHS computing environment in support of the EIDS hardware and software infrastructure, which in turn supports EIDS applications development and production sustainment. The work covers all EIDS hardware and operating systems as well as specific enterprise-level services spanning all EIDS projects. Technical and management support includes systems analysis, systems administration, programming, testing, implementation, documentation, security maintenance, security testing (DIACAP) support and performance monitoring for all EIDS hardware and operating system software.
“We’re delighted to continue building on our partnership with the EIDS Program Office,” stated Mac Curtis, President and CEO of Vangent, Inc. “We look forward to working closely with EIDS to provide critical IT support services necessary to ensure the delivery of high quality healthcare information.”
The EIDS Infrastructure Support contract was awarded as a task order under the Department of Defense/Systems Integration, Design, Development, Operations and Maintenance Services 3 (D/SIDDOMS 3) contract vehicle, a multiple-award, Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity contract that provides the MHS, its components and the Department of Veterans Affairs the ability to order services, equipment, materials and facilities to design, test and operate information technology systems and system components.
Vangent is ranked #15 on Federal Times’ list of Top 100 Professional Services Contractors and #39 on Washington Technology’s 2007 list of Top 100 Federal Government Prime Contactors, topping the list of companies in the IT Services industry sector.
