CAROL MOWBRAY JOINS VANGENT AS SENIOR HIGHER EDUCATION SOLUTIONS MANAGER
Respected Student Financial Aid Leader Brings 23 Years of Experience to Vangent

October 2, 2007 - Vangent, Inc., a leading global provider of information management and business process outsourcing solutions, today announced that Carol Mowbray has joined its Education Services team as Senior Higher Education Solutions Manager. In her new role, Mowbray will work directly with Vangent’s customer, the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Federal Student Aid (FSA), on issues central to their mission, such as simplifying the financial aid application process.
Prior to joining Vangent, Mowbray served as Director, Student Financial Aid and Support Services, at Northern Virginia Community College in Annandale, VA, for nearly 10 years, where she was responsible for a large automated financial aid office managing more than $25 million. In this role she oversaw all federal, state and institutional financial aid programs; established awarding philosophies; served as liaison with other offices, community, state and federal organizations; participated in state, regional and national associations; counseled students and parents; trained campus personnel on financial aid and veteran’s benefits.
Prior to that, Mowbray served as College Coordinator of Student Benefits and Support Services at Northern Virginia Community College for 7 years and as Director, Student Financial Aid, at Marymount University, also for 7 years. She also served as a college counselor and instructor for 5 years. She is knowledgeable in all functional areas including financial aid, veteran’s benefits, student records, student financials and web-based student service interactions. In addition she has significant training experience in student financial aid areas, student information systems and student services. Mowbray has been active in the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (NASFAA), the Southern Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (SASFAA) and a number of U.S. Department of Education rule-making and advisory committees.
Mowbray graduated from George Mason University in Fairfax, VA with a Master of Education in Counseling and Student Personnel Services and a Bachelor of Arts in American Studies.
