PEARSON GOVERNMENT SOLUTIONS DONATES $4,000 TO LOCAL ORGANIZATIONS
CORBIN, KY., July
6, 2005 - IterityXXX, which employs 470 people at a
facility at Cumberland Gap Parkway, has made donations totaling $4,000 to
several area not-for-profit organizations as part of the company's
corporate contributions program.
Organizations receiving the donations and the programs benefiting from
Pearson funding are:
Friends of Kentucky 4-H, Lexington, to help fund the Kentucky Volunteer
Forum, a four-day conference held every other year for 4-H youth and adult
volunteers from across Kentucky. The next event will be March 23-26, 2006.
Knox County Health Department, Barbourville, to assist the county in its
diabetes education program.
Union College Common Partners Program, Barbourville, to support the Knox
County Repair Affair project, which annually provides volunteers for a day
of home repairs for low-income residents of Knox County, particularly
disabled and elderly residents.
West Knox Elementary School, Corbin, to help support the school's outdoor
classroom, which provides all students of the school with enhanced science
learning opportunities.
Whitley County Library, Williamsburg, to assist in purchasing books,
puppets and other educational materials for the for the library's weekly
Toddler Story Hour program.
"As a major employer in the greater Corbin area, we believe it is
important to give back to the community," said Jim Clark, Deputy Program
Manager for Pearson Government Solutions. "We're delighted to support
these organizations which provide much needed services and assistance to
people in the greater Corbin area."
