VANGENT RECEIVES ORGANIZATIONAL CMMI LEVEL 3 RATING
Carnegie Mellon University ’s Prestigious Rating Reaffirms Vangent’s Commitment
to High Quality Systems and Software Solutions
Arlington, VA ,
April 23, 2007 - Vangent, Inc. (formerly Pearson Government Solutions), a leading global provider of information management and business process outsourcing services, announced today it has received Carnegie Mellon University’s Software Engineering Institute’s (SEI) Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) Level 3 rating. The achievement demonstrates Vangent’s continued commitment to providing high quality systems and software solutions to the government, commercial, education, healthcare and international marketplaces.
“Our customers can rest assured that our world-class development methodologies are used uniformly across the business and not just with a few projects,” stated John George, Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer. “We deployed our processes across the entire organization, and had them assessed at Level 3,” George said.
Led by an SEI-authorized SCAMPI SM (Standard CMMI® Appraisal Method for Process Improvement) Version 1.1 lead appraiser, the assessment encompassed a thorough review of project management, engineering, support and process management practices which were geographically distributed across Vangent locations including Iowa, Kansas, Georgia, and Virginia. The lead assessor was thoroughly pleased with Vangent’s preparation and the company’s demonstrated commitment to engineering process improvement.
Currently, Vangent is preparing to achieve a CMMI Level 4 rating this summer, as the company aggressively continues to invest in new skills, resources and offerings.
