SOLUTIONS SELECTED TO CREATE ENTERPRISE BUSINESS MODERNIZATION SYSTEM FOR
DEFENSE INFORMATION SYSTEMS AGENCY
New Worldwide System Will Improve DISA's Procurement
of Telecommunications and IT Services and Products
ARLINGTON, VA.,
April 13, 2006 - Pearson Analytic Solutions (formerly KEI Pearson), a
wholly-owned subsidiary of Pearson Government Solutions, was awarded a
$22.8 million contract from the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA)
to create an Enterprise Business Modernization (EBM) System. The new
system will allow DISA to better manage its procurement lifecycle,
allowing efficient, integrated "one-stop shopping" for DISA's Procurement
and Logistics/Defense Information Technology Contracting Organization (PL/DITCO).
Pearson Analytic Solutions will lead a team of five subcontractors to
provide technical assistance, project management and business process
analysis and support. Together, the team will be responsible for the
design, development, integration and implementation of the EBM system.
Over the projected seven year term, the Pearson Analytic Solutions team
will work in the Washington, DC area, Scott Air Force Base, IL, and at
Hill Air Force Base, UT. When fully deployed, the system will be
accessible around the world.
"After a rigorous evaluation, we are extremely proud that DISA placed
their trust in Pearson Analytic Solutions for this critical project. This
project highlights our ability to integrate software and hardware
technology with human resources to deliver a complete solution meeting our
customer's needs," stated Allen Shay, President and CEO, Pearson Analytic
Solutions. "EBM is a natural expansion of our growing work in the defense
and intelligence communities."
PL/DITCO procures global, net-centric telecommunications and commercial IT
services and equipment required by DoD components and other U.S.
Government agencies. PL/DITCO employs about 300 contracting personnel who
establish and administer contracts valued at more than $3.0 billion in
financial transactions annually, supporting buyers through innovative
contracting and acquisition logistics.
EBM, an eProcurement system making maximum use of Commercial-Off-the-Shelf
(COTS) software, addresses all of PL/DITCO's requirements: Buyer
Management, Order Management, Data Management and Reporting, Workflow and
Document Management, Systems Administration, Infrastructure Management,
Information Security and Interface Management.
The Pearson Analytic Solutions team consists of: Appian Corporation,
a privately held business process management software and professional
services firm; BEA Systems, Inc., a world leader in enterprise
infrastructure software; Oberon Associates, Inc., an information
technology services company; SRA International, Inc., a consulting
services and information technology firm offering requirements validation,
testing, and evaluation, and The Newberry Group, Inc., an
information technology and systems consulting firm providing systems
administration, security, and support.
