Ethisphere Institute Names Vangent A Government Contractor Ethics Program Leader
Vangent Earns Top-10 Ranking for its Ethics Training and Communications Program, Receives High Marks for Ongoing Business Integrity
Arlington, VA, April 8, 2008 - Vangent, Inc., a leading global provider of information management and business process outsourcing solutions, today announced that the Ethisphere Institute named Vangent a leader in three categories in the Ethisphere Institute’s Government Contractor Ethics 2008 Rankings. Vangent received top-10 rankings in the Ethics Training & Communications Programs and Private Company Ethics Programs categories. Vangent also earned a ranking in the Best Ethics Programs Overall category.
The Ethisphere Institute, through its Ethisphere Council, is dedicated to the research, creation, and sharing of best practices in business ethics, compliance, sustainability, and corporate governance and citizenship. The Ethisphere Institute analyzed more than 1,000 Federal government contractors to develop its Government Contractor Ethics 2008 Rankings.
“We are honored that the Ethisphere Institute recognizes Vangent as one of the industry’s most ethical government contractors,” said Mac Curtis, president and CEO of Vangent, Inc. “The award highlights our commitment to providing the highest levels of service and integrity to our Department of Defense, civilian, and healthcare customers. We deliver enhanced accountability and transparency through fixed-price contracts that provide customers measurable service levels.”
The rankings address the new Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) requirements for U.S. government contractors’ ethics programs. The Ethisphere Institute scored
companies based on their ethics programs, which were reviewed through an online questionnaire, and include additional information that participants provided.
The Ethisphere Institute rankings are based on objective analysis of four categories:
- Code of ethics and business conduct
- Leadership and tone from the top
- Internal control systems
- Ethics training and communication programs
“The Government Contractor Ethics 2008 Rankings spotlight companies that have instilled business ethics into their corporate culture and daily operations,” said Alex Brigham, executive director of the Ethisphere Institute. “We applaud Vangent for earning high marks in multiple ethics categories and demonstrating an ongoing commitment to providing agencies with new levels of service excellence.”
