PEARSON PERFORMANCE SOLUTIONS AWARDED CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT CONTRACT BY THE UNITED STATES AIR FORCE

Chicago, IL., January 11, 2007 - Pearson Performance Solutions (PPS), a leading provider of strategic workforce solutions, has been awarded the contract for the provision of Total Force Competencies Curriculum Development for the Air Force Squadron Officer College at Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama by the Department of the Air Force, Air Education and Training Commands. Under the contract PPS will develop eight web-supported courses, four field practica, and a faculty readiness module to support company grade officer (CGO) development in accordance with the AF/A1 Total Force Competencies List (TFCL).

The mission of the Squadron Officer College (SOC) is to "Develop 21st Century Airmen who can advocate what Air, Space, and Cyberspace Power brings to the fight, value team achievement over individual success, and value their role in the profession of arms." The course curriculum being developed by PPS will result in a regionally accredited Master of Science in Applied Leadership to program participants. PPS will work with Air University (AU) to help plan, refine, develop and implement the program structure, curriculum, faculty and student life-cycle support services, program evaluation, operations management, and plan for sustained operations. The curriculum program will consist of in-depth leadership and organization development topics across four content areas: Foundations of Leadership, Organizational Leadership, War Leadership, and Cross-Cultural Leadership.
