Biography

Bernie Thuman has more than 23 years experience in providing enterprise and solution architecture consultation to client management and technical development staff in large government and commercial organizations. Beyond his technical program management experience, he maintains technical expertise in: Health Information Technology (HIT), Enterprise Architecture, Solution Architecture, Open Source Technology, and Service-Oriented Architecture with a particular emphasis on standards-based health information exchange. Sample clients include: Health and Human Services Office of the National Coordinator (ONC), Food & Drug Administration (FDA), Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) and AT&T Bell Labs. Mr. Thuman is responsible for Vangent’s Health Solutions Division technology and architecture direction, deployment and management. He is spearheading Vangent’s standards-compliant health information exchange solution, known as HIEOS™, upon which Vangent demonstrated conformance at recent Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE) interoperability testing events.
