May 27, 2009Vangent Senior Vice President Jeanne O'Kelley Receives Women in Technology 10th Annual Corporate Leadership AwardArlington, VA, Va. – May 27, 2009 – Vangent, Inc., a leading global provider of information management and strategic business process outsourcing services, today announced that Women in Technology (WIT) has awarded Jeanne O’Kelley, Senior Vice President of Vangent’s Technology Excellence Center, a 10th Annual Women in Technology Leadership Award. Jeanne O’Kelley was given the Corporate Leadership Award at a gala event on May 21, 2009 at the Hilton McLean in McLean, Va. WIT is the premier organization contributing to the success of professional women in the Greater Washington, D.C. technology community. The awards program honors leading female professionals working in the Greater Washington D.C. Metropolitan area who have exemplified superior work in the technology industry over the previous year. “I am thrilled to receive this prestigious award from WIT, an outstanding organization which has done so much for women, and am honored to join the other WIT awardees who have made impressive contributions to their organizations and communities,” stated O’Kelley. “I have thoroughly enjoyed mentoring middle school and high school girls through WIT’s Girls in Technology program which promotes my strong interest in more young women pursuing careers in science and technology.” O’Kelley was awarded the Corporate Leadership Award for her mentorship of small businesses and aspiring young women interested in the technology field. She also was recognized for her successful entrepreneurial and collaborative work style which led to the creation of Vangent’s Technology Excellence Center (TEC), a critical resource for the company in the development of people, processes and practices for enterprise modernization. The TEC is key to Vangent’s ability to design, build and operate innovative solutions for its customers.
The 2009 Leadership Awards program theme this year was “Changing the Face of Technology”. The awards drew upon WIT’s spirit to honor women who connect, lead and succeed in their professional endeavors and communities. “Women in Technology’s leadership awards recognize local trailblazers technology industry,” said Sue Liblong, president of WIT. “We received a record number of excellent nominations this year and each winner was selected based on her outstanding achievements in her organizations and the community.”
