	Vangent, Innovation and the Future of Student Aid The Customer Challenge The U.S. Department of Education's Office of Federal Student Aid (FSA) is the government's first performance-based organization, operating like a business to deliver financial aid to eligible post-secondary students. Because it must react to market factors like customer demand and even competitors, FSA needed to re-vamp its technology infrastructure to support 21st Century student aid while still meeting the requirements of the Clinger-Cohen Act of 1996. Yesterday's regulations, tomorrow's market needs = today's problem. The Vangent Solution FSA turned to Vangent for an enterprise-wide solution that provided a consolidated overview of data and data exchanges, organized as a future vision for the development, implementation, and integration of FSA's major systems.
