Vangent provides a wide range of business services in support of postsecondary educational institutions’ admissions offices. Our solutions incorporate multiple business processes, including admissions processing, recruiting, application review, application ranking, records integration, data storage and retrieval, database administration, reporting, and correspondence control. We work with colleges and universities to derive detailed business requirements and design and implement our solutions.

We provide solutions that allow applicants access to a Web site to enter applications and updates, or to enter application data for them during peak processing periods. We also provide contact centers that can handle peak call volumes during the final days of an application cycle.

Each year, we receive tens of thousands of student transcripts from high schools and scan and key-enter transcript information. As transcripts are processed and stored in a database, they are made available over the Internet to admissions evaluators. The evaluators complete evaluations online via a Web browser access, and our system performs the necessary calculations, using the university-provided algorithms, to determine which students qualify for the specific eligibility programs.

Vangent prints and mails letters advising high schools and school districts of their ability to participate in the special eligibility programs, along with information on the program itself and the university's Web site availability. We also mail Personal Identification Numbers (PINs) to students annually to allow access to online applications, and PIN reminder letters to prompt students to use the online application. In addition, we have begun providing transcript evaluation services on behalf of universities, to relieve the burden on their own evaluators. We also provide notification to high schools, school districts, and students regarding student eligibility.

We also manage all aspects of college placement exams. Along with setting up test centers and organizing all aspects of the test administration, Vangent notifies campuses and students of their testing status, coordinates the fee collection required for test administration, and manages the scoring of exams and reporting those scores.
